Research Development Services provides assistance to principal investigators in the process of developing and seeking funding for projects. Specifically, this office:
1. Assists in identifying potential funding sources for research, instruction, or public service projects, including both federal and non-federal sources.
2. Provides logistical support for large and/or complex proposals. http://research.unm.edu/RDS
3. Facilitates preliminary project/funding interest meetings with faculty.
4. Maintains, as part of the OVPRED web site, electronic resources such as electronic downloadable forms, an email alert service, and funding databases.
5. Provides training and technical assistance in use of funding databases and proposal development. http://research.unm.edu/findfunding
6. Maintains, with the participation of individual researchers, the GENIUS database that highlights an individual PI’s research interests and expertise. http://research.unm.edu/era/smarts_genius
7. Reviews letters of intent and preliminary and full proposals, and advises PIs on organizing and presenting them.
