TRANSFER OF PROJECT TO ANOTHER PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

For a non-research project, it is common to transfer an ongoing or continuing project to another principal investigator if the original PI leaves the institution or is assigned different duties. The original PI should send a request to the agency in writing, signed by the appropriate Pre-Award office for the change of PI. This request should be routed with a Proposal Data Sheet through the department or unit head and the college or director for approval. Once the funding agency approves the change, the change will be made within the University.
