Purpose and Activities: The Allstate Foundation will issue program grants to nonprofit organizations that are related to tolerance (teaching tolerance to youth, ending hate crimes, and alleviating discrimination); safe and vital communities (catastrophe response, youth anti-violence, neighborhood revitalization, and teen safe driving); and economic empowerment (financial and economic literacy, insurance education, and empowerment for victims of domestic violence). The Allstate Foundation also earmarks an additional $1 million for local nonprofits through the Agency Hands in the Community grants which are listed on their website for each specific region. Also the Helping Hands program supports employees who volunteer time and talent to local service projects. Regional offices and exclusive agents support communities at a local level in a variety of ways.

Eligibility Requirements: The foundation will only support nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Code. No grants will be made to individuals; fundraising events or sponsorships; Capital and Endowment campaigns; equipment purchase unless part of a community outreach program; Athletic events; Memorial grants; Athletic teams, bands and choirs; Organizations that advocate religious beliefs or restrict participation on the basis or religion; Groups or organizations that will re-grant the foundation’s gift to other organizations or individuals; Scouting groups; Private secondary schools; Requests to support travel; Grant requests for production of audio, film, or video; Multi-year pledge requests; International causes;

Deadline: The Foundation has no annual deadlines for submission. Proposals may be submitted throughout the year. The Foundation's fiscal year is the same as the calendar year.
