Purpose and Activities: The American Lung Association provides research funding in the areas of Biomedical Research, Clinical Patient Care Research, and Social-Behavioral Research. The association funds Lung Health Research Dissertation Grants, Research Training Fellowships, Research Grants, Clinical Research Grants, Career Investigator Awards, and the Dalsemer Research Scholar Award.

Fiscal Information: All Training Awards and Post-Doc awards awarded are $40K per year. Lung Health Research Dissertation Grants are up to $21K per year and may be renewed for a total of three years. Senior Research Training Fellowships are $32.5K for the first year and may be renewed for an additional year for $32.5K. All research grants including Clinical Patient Care, and Social-Behavior grants award $40K per year for up to two years. Career Investigator grants are awarded $60K per year for up to three years. Additional year renewals are dependent on the availability of funds. No indirect costs will be paid.
