Purpose and Activities: The Bank of the West makes charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations involved with arts and culture, education, health and human services, job training, youth development, community development, and civic affairs. Special emphasis is given towards programs designed to assist low to moderate income individuals. Support is given primarily in the area of company operations.

Eligibility Requirements: Giving is primarily in areas of company operations in AZ, CA, CO, ID, IA, MN, NE, NV, NM, ND, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, and WY. No support is given for sectarian or denominational organizations, fraternal or labor organizations, political candidates, political organizations, or discriminatory organizations. No grants are given to individuals, for advertising, political causes, events or activities, book, film, video, or television development or production, talent or beauty contests, or trips or tours.  For further information contact the foundation with the information listed above.

Application Data: Application forms are not required. Applicants should submit the following: a copy of IRS Determination Letter; name, address, and phone number of organization; detailed description of project and amount of funding requested; descriptive literature about the organization; geographic area to be served; brief history of organization and description of its mission; listing of board of directors, trustees, officers, and other key people and their affiliations; and a copy of the most recent annual report/audited financial statement/ 990.  Proposals must indicate whether the organization employs any lobbyists in its state legislature or in Washington, DC.
