Purpose and Activities: Catching The Dream (CTD) operates three programs. The Math, Engineering, Science, Business, Education, and Computer (MESBEC) Program is for high-potential Native Americans studying, or planning to study in these fields. The Native American Leadership in Education (NALE) Program is for high-potential paraprofessional Native Americans who plan to complete their degrees and obtain credentials as teachers, counselors, or administrators. The Tribal Business Management (TPB) Program is for students studying business management, accounting, finance, marketing, economics, hotel management, tourism, business administration, or other fields related to business and management. All three programs operate nationwide. Awards may be grants, loans, or a combination of both; may be in any field the Board of Directors finds beneficial to Native American peoples; and are merit-based rather than need-based awards.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be one-fourth degree American
Indian and an enrolled member of a federally recognized, state recognized,
or terminated

Deadline: March 15 for Summer School. April 15 for Fall semester or quarter. September 15 for Winter quarter or Spring semester.
Fiscal Information: Awards may be grants or loans, and amounts vary. Awards are paid on a regular basis, or as funds are available, either directly to the student or to the college on behalf of the student. Awards are not paid in a lump sum. Students who have already received funding from CTD may continue to receive funding as long as they maintain a good GPA and a full-time schedule in one of the priority fields of study, and submit updated information as required by CTD.
